Variety Vault was built out of necessity—a need for faster turnarounds, functional parts, and real-world solutions. What started as a single printer quickly evolved into a full-scale production setup serving manufacturers, engineers, and startups who don’t have time for delays or excuses.
Founded and co-owned by Jon and Emily, Variety Vault reflects a shared vision: to make high-quality 3D printing accessible, reliable, and scalable for modern manufacturers. After walking away from careers that no longer aligned with our values, we built a business grounded in problem-solving, precision, and speed. We combine advanced additive technologies with real-world manufacturing insight to help businesses move faster, prototype smarter, and produce with confidence.
We’re based in Ames, Iowa, and we specialize in delivering made-to-spec 3D printed parts—whether it’s a prototype, a short-run production run, or something that doesn’t fit “inside the box.” Our shop is practical, adaptable, and grounded—not built on buzzwords, but on machines that run well, prints that meet spec, and communication that respects your time.
As co-owners, we lead every project from concept to completion. Emily brings a sharp eye for design, branding, and business. Jon brings deep technical knowledge and a passion for pushing the limits of what’s possible with additive manufacturing. Backed by the encouragement of our families and a shared drive to build something better, Variety Vault continues to grow—layer by layer—into a production partner our clients can count on.
